Kite Reflection (6-D) February 4, 2013
1) The pattern is the strong parts because I drew them by hand.
2) I think I could have done a better job with the tape because there are a lot of wrinkles.
3) The theme of my kite is an original triangle with zebra stripes because I like the design. I chose the triangle kite because I knew it would be simple and original.
4) I chose the triangle kite because I knew it would be simple and fly.
5) The colors I used were cool colors because i liked the rhythm of all the colors together. I had a white background which made the colors pop out some more.
6) The positives of kite building are using the Tyvek was a nice material and Sharpie because they made the colors really stand out. The negatives were the tape and dowels because it was a pain trying to get the dowels positioned right. Also the sharpies were a negative at times to, because they ran out fast, were not that many choices at the end, and they took a long time.
7) I learned to stop wasting my time helping Devon and take my time for myself because I got behind. "Sometimes you have to help yourself before you help others."
8) The steps I took were planned. I first drew out my idea and colored it, I then put my final on Tyvek. I then colored the stripes in a pattern and then did the tails and fin. I then started assemblying the dowels on the back. I kept the kite I had drawn in my preliminary designs. The challenges I faced were getting my kite done on time.
9) I think this project was fun! I think that we should have a few more days and that you should go around the room more. Because a few extra days and more of your help could have been great. I like the hands- on time we got though, because I got to do the design I liked the best.
